Effect of Rehydration with Mineral Water on Cardiorespiratory Fitness Following Exercise-Induced Dehydration in Athletes

Background: The aim of the present study was to examine effect rehydration with mineral water on cardiorespiratory fitness in athletes. Methods: Twenty athletes (age 21.7 ± 3 years) underwent a random, crossover design experimental trial. Three visits were arranged, first for baseline measurement. second visit included three phases (pre-dehydration, post-dehydration, and post-rehydration), either Zamzam (mineral water) or bottled (control used. third similar visit, but an exchange type Cardiorespiratory blood parameters evaluated. Results compared between water, each water. Results: No significant difference found markers. However, maintained functions including VO2peak, VT1, VT2, VEpeak, even equivalent 100% loss body weight following exercise-induced dehydration (>2% weight). Rehydration associated reduction both VO2peak VEpeak. Conclusions: such as is unlikely impair fitness, intake equal weight.
